These offices alongside the LA River, an area pegged for extensive regeneration, will soon be part of a thriving neighborhood emerging from a landscape of disused industrial buildings.
A perfect illustration of the way in which the old habits of a city give way to the new, they are located on crescent-shaped pieces of railway land, once used for parking freight which are now being developed to support new ways of living and working.
Our client BLVD 745, wants to develop two of these left over spaces into new creative studio accommodation, making the most of the weird and wonderful industrial landscape and the outlook across the rail lines.
It is a great opportunity to create something memorable – a great example of aspirational design which celebrates the urban condition to create something highly desirable.
These buildings have a strong street presence with well-integrated parking strategies. Expansive ceiling heights and contemporary finishes create highly modern and adaptable spaces. This project proves that dramatic, generous and well-defined spaces compel us to use them in many and varied ways. We can’t resist the urge to use and re-use a great space, whatever its first intended use was.
